What do I need to submit?
Before completing any forms, please read all the notes carefully. If the forms are not filled in correctly, or the required information is not submitted, processing of our application is likely to be delayed.
Local Validation Criteria
In addition to the National Validation Criteria, Local Planning Authorities have Local Validation Criteria. The criteria are based on application type and are designed to ensure essential information is present when the application is submitted, therefore speeding up the decision making process.
If an application is submitted without the necessary documents specified below, the application will be invalid.
Planning Applications for Householder Development
For development to your home including garage conversion, extensions and conservatories. To see if you require planning permission for your project, please visit the Planning Guidance page or contact Development Control. Please note that there are no Local Validation Criteria for householder development however, the National Validation Criteria still apply.Planning Applications For Non-Householder Development
(New Build and Non-Residential Extensions) e.g. new housing, factories, offices, telecommunications, shops etc - full or outline, and reserved matters.Applications For Works to TPO Trees or Notification of Proposed Works To Trees in Conservation Areas
Applications For Other Types of Consent
- Conservation area consent
- Listed building consent
- Hedgerow removal notice
- Prior notification - demolition
National Validation Criteria
There are also National Validation Criteria which apply to all Local Planning Authorities in England. If you fail to submit documents published as being required by our National Validation Criteria, the planning application will be considered invalid.
