Planning Applications - View, Search for and comment on Planning Applications

Information on how to search for planning applications.

You may view recent Planning Applications and make comment on an application while the period of consultation is open. Comments made by others via these pages can also be viewed. If you are interested in the decision on an application you can provide an email address to be notified when the decision is made.

If you are interested in the history of applications at a property you may wish to view it's planning history. Records relate to known single addresses and start from 1982. Please note early phases of developments and applications affecting more than one property are not available. Application Search can locate applications not in the History.

Making a comment

Details on how we notify the public and the consultation process.

You can make a comment online by any of the methods mentioned below under Searching for an application. If you have had a yellow neighbour notification letter sent to you by the council, you may find it useful to have this in front of you. Once you have found the application, click on Add Comment.

Alternatively, please contact us either by letter, phone, our online comments form, email or fax (details below) to let us know your comments about a planning application.

We will need the following information from you:

• Your Name, address and phone number
• The reference number and address of the planning application
• Details of how the planning application will affect you
• What you would like us to do

Please note that legally we must allow the public to see any comments we receive about planning applications. This means that we cannot treat any comments as confidential.

Searching for an application

You can search for recent applications by several methods depending on the information you have available. Once you have found the application you can make a comment online and also register an email address for notification of its decision.

Recent applications list by week received

The traditional planning list, all applications received within the last ten weeks. Please select the Ward if known. If an applications consultation period is still open, you can add a comment to or object to the application.

Recent applications within a distance/time period by map

Choose a time period, distance and select the location by clicking on a map (best if you are familiar with the features of Solihull). If an applications consultation period is still open, you can add a comment to or object to the application. You will need to click on 'More Details' to be able to do this.

Recent applications near to an address

Choose an address and see recent applications during the last 8 weeks and within a 1 Kilometre circle. If an applications consultation period is still open, you can add a comment to or object to the application. You will need to click on 'More Details' to be able to do this.

Sometimes known as the decision register. Applications will also have a copy of the applications decision notice displayed here, where available.
