The Government's agenda to modernise local government makes it clear that getting closer to the community is a priority for local councils. This means not only encouraging people to vote but giving people the opportunity to be much more involved in Council decision making, and not just by telling us what they think about services but by involving people in decisions, across a wide range of issues.
