Housing Strategy

The purpose of Housing Strategy is to ensure that Solihull’s local housing markets work well.

We work with a wide range of partners to develop clear objectives for housing activity and to implement initiatives to meet housing needs, promote energy efficiency and affordable warmth.

Of particular importance is providing more affordable housing and the Council works closely with the Homes and Communities Agency and others to do this. The Local Investment Plan for Solihull sets out the principles and priorities for joint investment by Solihull Council and the Homes and Communities Agency to deliver Solihull’s overarching vision and related strategies for regeneration, renewal and growth. The plan identifies the strategic context for investment and summarises the evidence base that will be used to direct investment and determine the outputs and outcomes expected from HCA, the Council and wider stakeholders.

The Local Investment Plan is being developed further during 2011, especially with regard to the development of new supported housing.

If you have any comments that you would like to make on the Housing Strategy or the Local Investment Plan please contact the Housing Strategy team.
