Housing Strategy

The purpose of Housing Strategy is to develop clear objectives for housing activity and meet policy priorities.

The Council's Housing Strategy sets out these objectives, the contribution from partner organisations and the community; targets; evaluation methods; and how housing activity will support wider social, environmental and economic objectives. The Council regularly updates its Housing Strategy to take account of changes nationally, regionally and locally.

The Local Investment Plan for Solihull sets out the principles and priorities for joint investment by Solihull Council and the Homes and Communities Agency to deliver Solihull’s overarching vision and related strategies for regeneration, renewal and growth. The plan identifies the strategic context for investment and summarises the evidence base that will be used to direct investment and determine the outputs and outcomes expected from HCA, the Council and wider stakeholders.

The Plan will be reviewed later in 2010 following the approval of the Local Development Framework, the revision of Solihull’s Sustainable Communities Strategy and further definition of sub-regional strategic relationships.  The Council and the Homes and Communities Agency will also be developing a Local Investment Agreement to inform future co-investment decisions.
