A strategy to develop the sustainable travel and transport infrastructure within the authority, so that the needs of children and young people are better catered for; and the promotion of sustainable travel and transport to, from and between schools and other institutions.
The Vision
Home to School Transport Policies for Pupils Aged from 4 to 16 years old
In order to qualify for free transport or assistance with travel, pupils must comply with the criteria listed in the Home to School Transport Policy for Pupils Aged 4 to 11 years old and 11-16 years old.
Exceptions
If you are a student who has an appropriate statement of SPECIAL EDUCATIONAL NEEDS you will be advised separately whether or not you qualify for assistance with travel based upon your physical and/or cognitive difficulty.
Pupils attending a nursery school are not eligible for assistance.
Post 16 Transport Partnership policy
Transport policy statement for students aged 16-18 in further education and continuing students aged 19 and over (up to age 25)
No budget has been granted for Post 16 transport assistance and the policy is currently under review.
