On-line press office
Policy
The press office's aim is to promote Solihull Council, inspire confidence in it, and give it a strong voice.
We will do this by working with the media in the following ways:
- We will provide you with open, honest and accurate information, within agreed deadlines.
- We will always respond to your queries and provide you with a comment for any story.
- We will provide you with high quality press releases, written in plain English, on newsworthy subjects. - See Press Releases.
- Where we feel topics need further explanation, we will provide you with press briefings, or arrange a face to face discussion with a senior officer or Councillor.
- We will be on hand at Cabinet and Full Council to help you with any further information, or arrange an interview.
- We will arrange interviews with Senior Councillors or Officers
- We will discuss with you any item which we feel has not been presented fairly or accurately, and provide you with a rebuttal/clarification
- We will be out of hours for press queries, seven days a week. - see Contact Us
In return, we ask the media to respect the Council's Media Protocol, which states that all press queries should be directed to the Council's Press Office.
