Your information will be held by Trading Standards who can be contacted by post at Trading Standards & Licensing, P O Box 1833, Solihull, B91 9DZ.
How we will use your information
Trading Standards will use your personal information to send you the information pack/leaflets that you require. After you have received the pack/leaflets you may be sent a customer satisfaction questionnaire to monitor the performance of Trading Standards. It may also be used to produce statistical reports to analyse trends in the work of Trading Standards.
However, if your personal details e.g. address are different to information we already hold about your new personal details may be shared with other Council divisions to ensure our records are kept up to date.
Who else it will be shared with
Enquiries to Trading Standards are audited by external organisations, for purposes of quality control of the performance of Trading Standards. These organisations are the Legal Services Commission and the Trading Standards departments of other Local Authorities. The information provided is usually statistical and does not identify individuals. Trading Standards will not release your personal details without contacting you to ask your permission to pass them to any other organisation.
How long it will be kept
The information you submit will not be kept for any longer than is needed. The length of time will depend upon whether the Council has a business need for keeping the information and/or if the law requires that we keep the information for a particular length of time.
Your personal information will be held for 2 years.
How we will ensure it is accurate
If you are contacted before sending out the leaflet(s) Council staff will ask you to confirm your information, if necessary, to ensure accuracy.
How we will safeguard it
The information will be kept in a secure office environment. It will be held on computer databases that can only be accessed by authorised members of Council staff.
