All members of the community can now access the Educational Psychology Service by telephone.
Office Hours 8.45 a.m. to 3.45 p.m. Monday to Friday
EPS Duty Call Helpline 0121 770 6030
- Mohammed Bham, Principal Educational Psychologist
- Katrina Gardiner, Senior Educational Psychologist
- Monica Ludwig, Senior Practitioner Educational Psychologist
Anyone from the community can ring the EPS and speak to a senior member of staff for information or advice.
Parents/Carers
If you are concerned about your child’s learning at home or school your first step should be to contact your child’s teachers. However, if extra support or advice is needed we encourage you to ring the educational psychology service and speak to a senior member of staff.
You may sometimes ask us not to have any discussions with other professionals known to your child. We respect this wish but we do our best to persuade parents/carers that a full and open exchange of information with schools and other professionals is likely to be more productive.
Schools, Colleges, Early Years Settings and other professionals
If the query is about a child then it would be appropriate for parents to have given their consent for the contact to be made. On occasion it may be appropriate for you to encourage parents to ring the duty line themselves.
This service is well used and if the person on duty is already dealing with a call someone will ask you to leave a message and the duty senior will endeavour to contact you that day or within two working days.
If we already know the child then it makes sense to speak to the person who is working with you already (for example, the EP from your local area, who may initially provide a telephone consultation).
As part of our service to the community, our agreement with local Academies and Independent Schools is to provide Duty call service for school staff, children and families living in Solihull.
