For parents/carers and the wider children's workforce across education, health and social care, we will provide the following during 2010 to 2011:

Priority Description

Consultation

Consultation Request Form 

  • Duty Call Helpline 0121 7706030 between 8.45am and 3.45pm Monday to Friday
  • Face to face consultation after consultation requests have been accepted
  • Respond to electronic report forms relating to anti-bullying and racist incidents 
  • Attend Children Missing Education inter-agency monthly panels
  • Attend the panel that moderates referrals for Statutory Assessments 

Assessment and Intervention

Consultation Request Form

  • Children and young people at risk of exclusion from an educational setting 
  • Children and young people with complex difficulties where there are significant barriers to learning
  • Children and young people in care or unaccompanied asylum seeker children
  • Children and young people involved in bullying
  • Children and young people experiencing anxiety related to school non-attendance or transferring to a new school
  • Children experiencing difficulty separating from parents/carers in going to school or nursery
  • Contribute to integrated assessments within Meadow Centre Pathway for Complex Needs (under 6 and over 6)
  • Provide Psychological Advice for Statutory Assessments of Special Educational Needs
  • Provide Psychological Advice as a witness to the Special Educational Needs Tribunals
  • Attend Annual Reviews for young people attending out of borough schools and who live away from home
  • Monitor Home-Based Programmes

 Intervention

  • Mellow Parenting Programmes
  • Emergency Advice and Support for Education (EASE) by responding to critical incidents and provision of guidance for schools leaders (working with Education Welfare Service and Emergency Planning)

 Training

  • Anti-bullying in partnership with Coventry and Warwickshire, as part of Total Place 
  • Youth Resilience (through commissioning The British Red Cross)
  • Nurturing Schools training to be provided in four schools
  • Workforce Development including: Child Development, Equality and Diversity, Communicating with Children and Young People and Safeguarding
  • Anti-bullying programmes for schools (through commissioning The Children's Society) including:  Keep Cool, Playground Pals and Embrace

  • Preventing Violent Extremism in secondary schools
  • Cyber-Survey research dissemination
