School Admission Appeals

What to do if you have been refused a place.

If you have been refused a place at a school ranked higher than the one you have been offered you have the right of appeal against the decision.

How do I lodge my appeal?

For community schools an appeal form will be provided in the letter you receive refusing your school place.

For voluntary aided schools in Solihull, the responsibility for appeal arrangements rests with the school, and you should contact them directly for details.

When completed, the appeal form should be returned to:
Chief Executive's Department,
P O Box 18
Solihull
B91 9QS

Appeals are heard by an independent panel.

Acceptance of a place at a school does not affect your right to appeal.

Applications refused in the second half of the summer term may not have appeals heard until the start of the new school year in September.
