Changes to your child's Statement of Special Educational Needs
Information about Special Educational Needs
Following the Annual Review of your child's Statement of Special Educational Needs, we will decide whether changes need to be made to the Statement. We will then write to you, your child's school and the professionals involved in the Review. If the Review recommends a significant change to the Statement then an Officer from the Inclusion and Access Team will write a Proposed Amended Statement detailing any changes we want to make and will ask you for your views.
A Review may lead to changes to your child's Statement, for example, if:
- Your child's needs have changed a lot.
- We decide that different kinds of extra help are necessary.
- The present school is unable to meet your child's specific needs.
Within fifteen days of hearing from us, you can ask for a meeting to discuss the changes we want to make and to listen to your views. We will tell you our final decision and any changes we have made within eight weeks of suggesting a change.
