Services for your school

Learning Resources and Advice Service provides quality advice for primary, secondary and special schools to support librarians and teachers with both professional and service development in the school library.

Loan of resources

From 1st April 2010 Solihull Libraries will no longer offer schools a resource loan service. Neighbouring authorities have School Library Services that may be able to deliver this service for your school. Please contact them directly:

Our Services:

Revision help

Looking for web sites that will help your revision study? Go to Solihull Libraries Delicious bookmark pages for recommended revision sites for GCSE and A-Level studies.

Recommended Resources

See our recommended Fiction titles for each Key Stage.

Class Visits

Arrange a visit for your class to visit their local Solihull Library. This is a good way to familiarise your pupils with the way a library works, how to find a book and information, hear about the latest children's fiction and the range of activities available to them (homework clubs, summer reading challenge, reading groups etc.) at their local library. Make sure all your pupils have a library card. Please contact your local library.

Treasure Chest

Children's Library Services organises the distribution of the My Bookstart Treasure Chest to all children in the borough. The Treasure Chests are mainly distributed through nursery settings in maintained and independent schools. If you would like to arrange a delivery to your nursery or if your child is not attending a nursery, please contact the Bookstart team on 0121 704 6984.
