Services for your school

Solihull Children's Library Services offers a range of services for schools to support reading for pleasure and the development of information literacy.

Loan of resources

Solihull Libraries no longer offers a schools resource loan service. The neighbouring authorities listed below have School Library Services that may be able to deliver this service for your school. Please contact them directly:

Other Services:

Class Visits

Arrange a visit for your class to visit their local Solihull Library. This is a good way to familiarise your pupils with the way a library works, how to find a book and information, hear about the latest children's fiction and the range of activities available to them (homework clubs, summer reading challenge, reading groups etc.) at their local library. Make sure all your pupils have a library card. Please contact your local library.

Bookstart Treasure Chest

Solihull Children's Library Services organises the distribution of the My Bookstart Treasure Chest to all children in the borough. The Treasure Chests are mainly distributed through nursery settings in maintained and independent schools. If you would like to arrange a delivery to your nursery or if you are planning for your child to go straight into Reception Class at school or your child does not attend a nursery, please contact the Bookstart team on 0121 704 6984.
