Services to Schools - Learning Resources and Advice Service
Bookstart
The Learning Resources and Advice Service provides quality resources and advice for primary, secondary and special schools including books, artefacts, posters, textiles and help for librarians and teachers with professional and service development.
Bookstart is a scheme run by Solihull Libraries Arts and Lifelong Learning Service in partnership with Solihull's Primary Health Care Trust. It is currently funded by the Early Years and Childcare Development Partnership. Bookstart was initiated and developed by Booktrust. It began in 1992 with 300 babies. In 2000 there were 65,000. Since 2001 there have been 1,170,061 Bookstart babies!
