Shirley Town Centre Redevelopment

This page contains details of the public inquiry which is to take place on 8th May 2008.  Information will be posted here and updated regularly on the inquiry programme.  Inquiry documents will also been found on this page.

Compulsory Purchase and other Orders

In July 2007 the Council made a compulsory purchase order in relation to land at Shirley required for the completion of its proposals for the redevelopment of Shirley Town Centre.  The Council also made an order for the stopping up of the footpath in the park from Haslucks Green road and for an alternative path.

On application by the developer, Shirley Advance, the Secretary of State proposed to make an associated order to stop up public highway affected by the proposed development.

Objections have been received to these statutory orders and the final decision on whether the orders should be made or confirmed is to be taken by the Secretary of State following a public inquiry.
