Solihull in Bloom
What are the judges looking for?
The judges visit in the month of July and are taken around an array of attractions within Solihull via a specially designed route to include facilities and attractions such as a school, a local hospital, an allotment site, a park and a fire station.
They are looking at 4 key areas:
- The permanent landscaping - The planting and maintenance on estates, traffic routes and parks
- The floral features - in town centres, in public areas and town centres
- The environmental quality - evidence of sustainable development and conservation
- Community involvement and public awareness - litter picks, gardening groups and bulb planting project
If you have a site or area that would be worthy of a judges visit then please contact us.
Nominate your favourite beauty spot
We are always looking for new examples of community invovlvement or environmental impact created as a result of volunteers in the Borough.
So next time you are on a journey around Solihull, contact us and tell us about a park you have enjoyed or your local restaurant or pub which has a great garden display. Places could include parks, residential gardens, estates, pubs, shopping centres, railway stations, schools, car parks or libraries to name but a few. Work conducted by community groups and residents is also important and may include litter picks, planting up a sheltered housing area or improving derelict pieces of land.
To submit your entry simply fill in the nomination form and some one will contact you if necessary about your nomination.
