Safeguarding Procedures
These procedures represent a revision of the former ACPC child protection procedures and were launched in May 2007 and are regularly updated.
They are approved as the definitive guide, and provide a practice framework for all agencies and professionals/volunteers who work together to safeguard children and young people in Solihull.
The first section of these procedures set out the policy framework and principles which Solihull Local Safeguarding Children Board expects all professionals and agencies to apply in dealing with child protection issues, and definitions of some of the words and phrases used.

Section two provides information on Solihull Local Safeguarding Children Board and section three describes the core procedure to be followed in all situations in which a child protection issue arises whilst section four sets out the action that needs to be taken in specific circumstances.
The remaining sections provide guidance in respect of specific cirmcumstances . The appendices provide information which professionals involved in this work may find useful including a keywords section.
LSCB Conference Report Template
Working Together 2010 was issued in March 2010 and requires that, professionals attending conference should provide a written report giving details of their involvement with the child and family.
In order to assist with this requirement a template has been designed for agencies to use to provide information to conference.
It is now the expectation that all agencies attending conference or when sending apologies will provide a written report to conference. This should be sent to the Child Protection Conference Chairperson 48 hours prior to conference at:

Please note: All professionals providing reports must provide enough copies for everyone attending the conference to avoid delay in copying reports before conference.
Serious Case Review Guidance
In the event of needing to consider or conduct a Serious Case Review, Solihull LSCB has produced written guidance which has been approved by the LSCB is to be followed by all constituent agencies. The guidance includes a referral process for a case to be considered for a Serious Case Review, a template for an Individual Management Review (IMR) as well as a flowchart setting out the process.
The guidance is intended to promote consistent and best practice and to ensure that lessons are learnt and implemented in a thorough and timely way.
