Building Repairs, Maintenance & Construction Services in a Partnership Arrangement

Background Information    

Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council (SMBC) is working in collaboration and is hosting this Building Repairs, Maintenance & Construction Services tender on behalf of a sub-regional group of Local Authorities including Coventry City (CCC), Warwickshire County (WCC), Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough (NBBC) Council’s and The Warwickshire Police Authority (WP). This sub-regional group’s Assets Steering Group has been charged with driving forward a shared service initiative that includes a number of ambitious goals for continual improvement, as a result we are now looking to bring a number of these building related works together supported by a single supplier delivering all aspects within a partnering arrangement.

The Opportunity

The aim of this partnering arrangement is to channel all of the specified Building Repairs, Maintenance & Construction Services detailed within this document through one preferred partner. It is anticipated that other contracted authorities may decide to join this arrangement at a later period in time.

All parties to this arrangement will endeavour to work more closely together during the life of the contract to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the delivery of the services. The total duration of this contract is 10 years – 7 years initial period, with option to extend a further 3 years.

Scope of Requirement

The supply arrangements should cover requirements for:

·         All planned building related projects in line with Asset Management Plans and any other Capital work subsequently introduced.
·         Reactive building repairs & maintenance services associated with domestic, educational, commercial, emergency and health facilities and light industrial properties, including but not limited to:
·         Building refurbishment and general maintenance work;
·         Carpentry;
·         Concrete Works;
·         Construction work;
.         Design services;
·         Energy initiatives (to include but not limited to insulation, solar screens, cladding etc)
·         Flooring;
·         Landscaping (including fencing, paving etc);
·         Plastering;
·         Plumbing;
·         Decoration (external and internal);
·         Reactive building repairs;
·         Roofing;
·         Window Replacement.
