Bickenhill HWRC Permit Scheme

Information on our Household Waste Recycling Centre (HWRC) Permit Scheme for vans and trailers.

 

A new permit scheme was introduced on the 31 October 2011.

The  permit allows you to use the site a maximum of 12 times in any 12 month period. Only one permit will be issued per household in the 12 month period.

For those who hold a permit, access hours for the site are as follows  Monday to Saturday 10.00am - 2.00pm. Please note no access will be allowed on Sundays or Bank Holidays or at any other times. To apply for a permit please contact us on 0121 704 8000.

Vehicle and Trailer Permit Information

Site Restrictions

  • Access hours for vehicles and trailers which hold a permit – Monday to Saturday 10.00am to 2.00pm
  • No access for these vehicles on a Sunday and Bank Holidays – they will be turned away from the site
  • Limited to 12 visits in a 12 month period – no additional permits will be issued.
  • Small trailers (less than 1.83 meters (6ft) including the tow bar) will not require a permit and can use the site at all times
  • 4 x 4 vehicles will be allowed on site - as long as they have rear side windows (this will include double cab pick ups)
  • 4 x 4 vehicles with rear side windows will need a permit if they are towing a trailer (this will include double cab pick ups)
  • 4 x 4 vehicles without rear side windows will need a permit, and can not be towing a trailer.
  • Permits are issued by post - please allow up to ten working days to receive the permit.

Who is affected?

  • Residents who use a commercial type vehicle
  • Residents who use a car with a  trailer in excess of 1.83 meters (6ft) including the tow bar
  • Vans towing trailers will no longer be able to use the site
  • Anyone who uses a vehicle which is taller than the height restriction (6ft 9in or 2.05m)
  • Anyone who uses a long wheel base van, a twin axle van or a van towing a trailer
  • Single cab or king cab pick ups will require a permit to use the site
  • Hire Vehicles – Residents who wish to use the site in a hire vehicle must ensure that the vehicle is compliant with the site restrictions. They will need to bring along with them to site their hire purchase documents.

Vehicles not accepted on the site

  • Long wheel based vans
  • Double or twin axle vans
  • Vans towing a trailer (the trailer will no longer be allowed)
  • Any vehicle in excess of the height restriction (6ft 9in or 2.05m)
  • Any vehicle in excess of the weight restriction (3.5 tonnes)
  • Any trailer over 2.9 meters (9ft 6in) including the tow bar
