Q. I have found/seen a stray dog. What should I do

A. Please see the information on stray dogs on the Dog warden pages.

Q. I am concerned that a dog/animal is being neglected.

A. If you think an animal is being treated cruelly by its owner please contact the RSPCA. They have a 24 hour telephone number on 0300 1234 999.

Q. My neighbour has a dangerous dog. what should I do?

A. It is an offence for a dog to be dangerously out of control in a public place. In addition the ownership of certain types of banned dogs is illegal. It is an offence to breed from, sell or exchange a prohibited type of dog. More details can be found on the DEFRA web site but if you have a serious issue regarding a dog dangerously out of control or a prohibited dog then you should contact the police on 0845 113 5000. For furtherinformation regarding a dangerous or agressive dog please refer to the page on dangerous dogs as well.

Q. I am thinking of starting a business looking after people dogs in my home. What do I need to do?

A. You need to apply to the Local Authority for a licence. Please see the Boarding animals licence page for details.

Q. There is a dead fox what should I do?

A.If the fox is on the road or verge please contact 0121 704 8000 and arrangements will be made for its collection. We do not however offer a service to collect dead foxes from gardens.
