Top 10 parking tips

  1. Always lock all doors and close all windows
  2. Don't leave valuables in the car, if you must - lock them in the boot out of sight
  3. If you leave your car overnight, try and choose a well-lit car park with CCTV or car park staff on duty
  4. Fit a car alarm and make sure you set it before leaving your car
  5. Invest in a locking petrol cap and if you've got alloy wheels, protect them with locking wheel nuts
  6. When you've parked, always check that the steering lock has engaged
  7. Don't leave dogs - or children - in the car
  8. Only park in marked bays
  9. Please make sure your orange/blue badge is prominently displayed
  10. If you park in a pay and display car park please don't forget to display your ticket clearly so it can be seen in your windscreen.
