Roads and highways - Restrictions to control vehicle movements and parking

Information about restrictions that can be imposed to control the movement of vehicles along the public highway or restrict parking, for structural or for environmental reasons.

The restriction is imposed by the use of a Traffic Regulation Order which is subject to a legal process and can take 6 - 12 months to introduce.

Enforcement

This is a matter for the Police who can be contacted for all non emergencies on 0845 113 5000.

Additional Considerations

Where a Traffic Regulation Order restricts the use of a road, route or area to certain vehicles, the signing of a recommended alternative route will need to be considered.
