Road safety - Cycle Skills Training

Information about cycle training for children.

Cycling on roads requires competence and this can be supported by taking a Cycle Skills Training Course with our Road Safety Team. It is offered to children over the age of nine, free, through their school. Cycle Training is offered to all Year 5 or 6 school children in the Borough and takes place at the school. Holiday courses are arranged for those who miss out during Term Time.

Courses will run over the school week, Monday to Friday. Each daily session lasts for approximately one hour; with the four on road sessions running for about 1 hour 15 minutes.

Courses combine both theory and practical sessions. Each successful trainee will be awarded a badge and certificate.
