Story of Solihull - Joint Strategic Needs Assessment

The Joint Strategic Needs Assessment (JSNA) is how local authorities and Integrated Care Boards assess the current and future health, care and wellbeing needs of the local community. Leading to agreed commissioning priorities that will improve the health and wellbeing outcomes and reduce inequalities.

The Story of Solihull provides an overview of the current population, demographics, health and wellbeing of Solihull residents. This summary document will be regularly updated to ensure the services are planned to meet the needs of our population.

The JSNA is further supported by a wide range of data and intelligence which offers greater detail into the Solihull population, health and economy:

A range of reports providing a detailed account of the Solihull population, environment, housing and infrastructure.

Area profiles providing a statistical overview of each of the 17 Wards and 3 locality areas of Solihull.

A suite of reports summarising the latest Census data for Solihull.

These reports provide a detailed look at specific health and wellbeing topics.

Current and past director of public health annual reports.

A catalogue of recommended data tools and resources to visualise and compare data at a local, regional and national level.

The JSNA is an ongoing process of strategic assessment and planning. The content of these web pages will be regularly refreshed and updated to ensure evidence-based priorities are up to date and able to inform local commissioning plans over time.
