Berkswell Neighbourhood Development Plan Referendum

On Thursday 18 July 2019 voters in Berkswell went to the polls to decide whether Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council should use the Berkswell Neighbourhood Development Plan to help it decide planning applications in the Berkswell neighbourhood area.

What is a Neighbourhood Development Plan (NDP)?

A NDP is a community led plan which sets out policies to guide the future use and development of land within a specified Neighbourhood Area. A NDP can shape development and growth in a local area.

If adopted the NDP will become part of the adopted borough wide development plan and will be used to assist Solihull Council in making decisions on planning applications.

This NDP has been produced by Berkswell Parish Council as the ‘Qualifying Body’ entitled to produce such a plan.

More information on the NDP can be found by viewing our Neighbourhood Development Plan webpages.

The Result

An overwhelming majority of voters in Berkswell voted in favour of the plan, which will now be used by Solihull Council to help it decide planning applications in the area. See the Declaration of Result of Poll for more details.
