Following government advice, we have suspended Mobility Assessments. We have a duty to protect the integrity of the Blue Badge scheme and should not issue a Blue Badge if eligibility has not been proven.
However, considering the current circumstances relating to COVID-19 the Department for Transport (DfT) has now issued the following guidance:
- In line with government advice on social distancing we can only conduct desk-based assessments for new Blue Badge applications and re-applications, and cannot call applicants in for face-to-face appointments at this time
- Where your eligibility cannot be determined or a decision cannot be made without a face-to-face assessment, then unfortunately we cannot process your application further at this time - but we will complete your application when an appropriate level of assessment can be undertaken
- This should not stop you from submitting your applications for a new Blue Badge or to renewal your current one
You can complete your new or renewal blue badge application form online. This will help us to continue to process applications while we work remotely in accordance with the latest government advice.
It is important to note that although we aim to process your application within 30 working days, please allow additional time for unexpected delays during this unprecedented time.
If we need to hold your application because of this temporary freeze on appointments, we will be in touch with you as soon as possible. Please do not contact us regarding these appointments unless you receive an email from us asking you to contact us directly.
Please note there is a £10 administration fee for all badges issued.
