Remembrance Sunday

Due to the latest Coronavirus restrictions, Solihull Council has pre-recorded the normal outdoor Remembrance service in Solihull town centre, which will only be available to view on YouTube from 10.30am on Sunday 8 November. This will allow people to join in with the service and the two minutes’ silence safely in their own homes.

People should commence streaming the service from 10.55am on Sunday morning in order to join in with the two minutes’ silence from 11.00am.

Those who would normally bring a wreath to place on the war memorial in Solihull, either on Remembrance Sunday or Armistice Day, are asked to observe strict social distancing in line with the new national lockdown rules.

Anyone wishing to lay a wreath should bring their own cable ties or wire fixings to attach it securely to the wire loops around the memorial, which have been left specifically for this purpose. The Council is not responsible for any wreaths laid.
