Fly tipping

We can only remove fly tipping from council land, for instance on a highway, pavement or public open space.

If waste has been deposited on private land, it is the responsibility of the owner or occupier of the land to arrange for its collection and disposal.

Risk to public health

We can investigate any fly tipping that poses a risk to human health or the environment, e.g. chemical waste, asbestos etc.

If fly tipped items pose a risk to public health please let us know by calling 0121 704 8000.

Report fly tipping

We aim to investigate fly tipping on council land within 5 working days, after our investigation has been completed we aim to collect the waste within 2 working days. This may take longer if further investigation by our Environmental Crime team is required.

We also have a Litter Blitz Crew that will provide a rapid response to areas that need urgent attention, we aim to deal with urgent reports the same day they are reported
