Closures and changes to Council services

Where there is more information on the individual service pages we have provided a link below. Please also check our latest news page for updates about non-Council services which are changing.

Council

  • Solihull Connect walk in centres - closed from Monday 23 March until further notice.
  • Council meetings - During the Covid-19 pandemic, Council meetings are taking place virtually. They are being live streamed on our YouTube channel, so you can watch these as they happen or afterwards. Full Council, Cabinet and Planning Committee meetings will also be archived in our webcast library.
  • Solihull Connect walk in centres - closed from Monday 23 March until further notice.

Leisure and parks

  • Community Centres - closed to the public until further notice.
  • Core Theatre and Studio - all shows due to take place in The Core Theatre have been cancelled until the end of 2020. Classes and courses have restarted following Covid-19 guidelines. Encore Cafe is open.
  • Council events - all Council-run events cancelled until further notice.
  • Council leisure centres - reopened on Saturday 25 July for gym and fitness classes, Saturday 1 August for lane swimming. Read more here.
  • Parks - tennis courts reopened on Wednesday 13 May and playgrounds and outdoor gyms on Monday 6 July.
  • Public Rights of Way - for the most up to date information on how Covid-19 is affecting Public Rights of Way.

Libraries

  • Libraries - A ‘Grab and Go’ system was launched on Monday 7 September, and many libraries have reopened. Find out more here.

Licensing

  • Licensing - the Licensing Walk-In Centre at Moat Lane is closed to the public until further notice. Customers can email enquiries to licensing@solihull.gov.uk

Parking, transport and roads

  • Car Parks - Parking charges in Council-operated car parks and on-street parking bays in Solihull town centre, Knowle and Shirley resumed on Wednesday 1 July. Find out more here
  • Residential parking - parking enforcement in all restricted areas - including residential areas - resumed on Wednesday 1 July.
  • School crossing patrols - suspended until further notice.
