Fillongley Road Bridge

The Fillongley Bridge project has now entered its construction phase. The bridge carrying the B4102 Fillongley Road over the A45 in Meriden will be replaced with a brand new structure which is scheduled to be in place by August 2022.

Solihull Council signed a delivery agreement at the end of September 2021, appointing Balfour Beatty as the main works contractor.

Some early works have been undertaken over the last few months which is why motorists and local residents may have seen activity near to the bridge. The main construction phase will now begin in early 2022 and continue through to the summer.

You can check this page to stay informed of developments at each stage of the project, including road closures.  But to ensure you don’t miss anything please sign up to our dedicated bulletin for Fillongley Road Bridge updates

We will continue to keep everyone informed of progress and will work with our contractors to minimise the disruption to local residents and A45 road used alike. If you have any concerns please email  fillongleybridge@solihull.gov.uk and we will reply during normal working hours.

We have also created a frequently asked question document which will be added to as the project progresses.
