Olton Library Literary Litter Pickers

Meet at Olton Library, 10.30am – 11.30am

Talking Rubbish in Solihull was created to promote a litter-free borough through positive action. Monthly litter picks are currently taking part in Olton, so volunteers can help to litter pick the local area for an hour before returning to the library for tea or coffee and biscuits.  All equipment and bags are provided and a full briefing given.  For more information contact talkingrubbish@outlook.com

Saturday 7 December
Festive Fun

Meriden Park, B37 5SH, 12.00pm – 3.00pm

Father Christmas is making a special appearance in the park so follow the festive trail to meet him in his grotto and receive a small gift!  Face painting and a Christmas craft activity is also available on site.  Entrance costs £1 per child and £1 per face paint. 

With Carols in the Park from 1.00pm, visitors of all ages can get into the festive spirit by singing along with the brass band and choir. Refreshments and toilet facilities are also available on site.  Meet by the car park.

Sunday 8 December
The Woof Run

Brueton Park and LNR, B91, 12.00pm – 3.00pm

Help to raise funds for St Basil’s by registering your dog to take part in the Woof Run - a fun but challenging obstacle course for dogs and their owners.  Following a successful debut in May, the event has returned for a second time. 

The route follows a 2.5 kilometre area of Brueton Park and incorporates a series of both natural and manmade obstacles.  Registration costs £10 per dog with proceeds going to St Basil’s - all participants will receive a photograph of them crossing the finish line.
