Solihull Council is developing ambitious plans for its town centre ‘Homer Road Gateway’ site.
Located at the corner of Homer Road and Station Road in Solihull town centre, this key strategic and commercial location offers huge potential for investment and development.
Plans are currently being shaped, in response to occupier demand and investor confidence in the area, for a landmark office scheme with the potential to deliver over 10,000sq m of new Grade A office space in this key location close to Touchwood shopping centre and Solihull railway station.
The scheme will form a vital part of the Council’s new town centre Masterplan which provides a clear blueprint for future investment and development in the town centre over the next 20 years.
In addition to the newly created Grade A office space, it will also offer a flexible and innovative co-working and collaboration space and will be rated as BREEAM Excellent, in line with the Council’s commitment to a low carbon future.
The project forms part of the Council’s UK Central programme, including key infrastructure projects geared towards economic growth in the borough.
As part of the pre-planning application stage the latest designs are being shared with local residents, businesses and stakeholders who are being invited to view and comment on the proposals. This will be fed in to the design process prior to the submission of a planning application later this month.
Approval for the first stage of demolition has already been secured with the some initial site clearance set to start in October, paving the way for this exciting new development.
To find out more about the ambitious plans for the site, Council officers will be holding two community drop-in events at The Core Library, Homer Road, Solihull on:
• Thursday 19 September, 12pm-6pm
• Friday 20 September, 12pm-6pm
