Council car park charges suspended

Solihull Council has suspended parking charges in Council-operated car parks and on-street parking bays in Solihull town centre, Knowle and Shirley until further notice.

This decision was approved virtually by the Cabinet Member for Environment & Highways today (Tuesday 21 April). The cabinet report can be found here.

People can still access Council-operated car parks – please check the website for opening/closing times.

Ticket machines will be covered over and signage put in place to inform motorists of the changes.

Civil Enforcement Officers will continue to be out and about, checking that facilities remain safe and that motorists park sensibly.

Widney Manor Cemetery to open on weekdays as restrictions start to ease

Solihull Council will open Widney Manor Cemetery on weekdays, 4 – 6pm, from Monday 1 June.  The council took the decision in line with government guidance and after monitoring the situation.

“Please take your litter home”

The Leader of Solihull Council has asked local residents to respect Solihull’s parks and open spaces and take their litter home with them after the borough experienced an increase in littering over recent weekends.
