The Great British Spring Clean Campaign for 2020, organised by Keep Britain Tidy, will take place from 20 March until 23 April.
Once again the Council’s environmental initiative Love Solihull are proud to be taking part in this year’s #GBSpringClean, by encouraging residents to get involved in the country’s biggest mass-action environmental campaign.
In 2019, over half a million people volunteered their time to take part in the campaign. The aim is to inspire people to work in partnership with community organisations, businesses and schools to collect and safely dispose of litter from Britain’s streets, parks and beaches.
Saturday 14 March marks ‘The Big One’- a joint litter pick with Talking Rubbish and Clean & Green from 10:30 until 12:30, meeting at Chelmsley Wood Citizens Advice Bureau, Bosworth Drive. There will be a number of litter picking groups from all around the borough to help in this clean up.
Councillor Ken Hawkins, Cabinet Member for Environment and Highways said: “This is a great initiative which here at Solihull we’re delighted to support. The Great British Spring Clean campaign helps keep our borough beautiful. I’d encourage everyone who can to get down to Chelmsley Wood on 14 March and get involved.”
