Council services over Christmas and New Year

Some of our services will be unavailable or open at different times during the festive season.

Council offices and Solihull Connect

Council offices including the Solihull Connect contact centre and Solihull Connect Walk In centres will be closed on:

  • Monday 26 December
  • Tuesday 27 December
  • Wednesday 28 December
  • Monday 2 January
  • Tuesday 3 January  

They will open as normal on all other weekdays.

 

Libraries

Visit our library closures page for opening days and times. 

 

Recycling and rubbish collections

There will be no collections on Monday 26 December.  

Parking enforcement  is suspended from 7am on Wednesday 21 December to 7am on Wednesday 4 January, when enforcement will resume as normal. 

Parking relaxation applies to roads subject to single yellow line restrictions only. People should continue to park considerately and safely and continue to comply with the Highway Code.

 

Bickenhill Household Waste and Recycling Centre will be closed on:

  • Christmas Day
  • Boxing Day
  • New Year's Day

It will also close at 2.30pm on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve. To book a visit and view opening times visit Bickenhill HWRC.

 

Leisure Centres - for opening hours visit the North Solihull Sports Centre and Tudor Grange Leisure Centre websites.

 

Cemeteries are open 9am - 4.30pm, except on

  • Christmas Day
  • Boxing Day and
  • New Year’s Day

when they will open from 10am to 2pm

 

Children's services

Children’s services will be closed on:

  • Monday 26 December
  • Tuesday 27 December
  • Wednesday 28 December
  • Monday 2 January
  • Tuesday 3 January  

They will be open as normal on all other weekdays.

The MASH email address will not be checked when the office is closed.

  • during office hours please call 0121 788 4300

If you’re facing homelessness or concerned about someone who is sleeping rough you can contact:
