H markings

A H bar marking is an advisory marking that is laid on parts of the public highway. Marked areas should be kept clear of parked vehicles either outside an entrance to off-street premises, or where the kerb is dropped to provide a convenient crossing place for pedestrians.

How do I apply?

Download and complete the H markings application form, please read the policy carefully as restrictions apply.

How much does it cost?

From 1 April 2020 a non-refundable administration fee of £27.50 is required for each application.

If your request is successful, a payment of £30 to £70 (depending on size) is required before the work can begin. This fee is for providing the H marking.
