On Friday 6 February 2026, Solihull Council approved plans to transform Mell Square with up to 1,600 homes, retail, and new public spaces.
The Council has partnered with Muse Places Ltd, a leading national developer, to transform Mell Square into a mixed-use community.
The project, which includes new flexible green spaces to support a vibrant multi-purpose central district filled with food, drink, and entertainment venues, will now be taken forward under a new name and vision – ‘Holbeche Place’. You can learn about the origins of this name in Muse’s news release.
Muse will continue to work with the Council to deliver the scheme. Construction of the first phase is expected to begin in Summer 2026.
