Find out how your information is used and stored in relation to the Crisis and Resilience Fund (CRF).

We will use your information to provide crisis support and help you build long-term financial resilience. We may share it with trusted partners to connect you to the right services.

What is the Crisis and Resilience Fund?

The Crisis and Resilience Fund (CRF) supports Solihull residents who are experiencing financial hardship or are at risk of crisis.

The fund provides:

  • immediate (short-term) support in times of urgent need
  • longer-term support to help build financial stability and resilience

This means we don’t just respond to crisis. We also provide services to help prevent future difficulties by connecting you to the right support services.

Support may include:

  • cash payments or financial grants
  • food or pre-payment energy vouchers
  • help with energy debt
  • essential household items (e.g. white goods)
  • items to help with heating and keeping warm in winter
  • advice, guidance, and access to long-term support services

Why we collect your information

We collect your information so we can:

  • assess your eligibility for support
  • provide the right help at the right time
  • deliver both immediate crisis support and longer-term resilience support
  • process payments, vouchers, or grants
  • identify households at risk of financial hardship
  • prevent and detect fraud or misuse of funds
  • meet our legal and funding requirements (including reporting to the Department for Work and Pensions)
  • connect you to other services that can support your long-term wellbeing and financial stability

We work with a range of services to ensure there is “no wrong front door”, meaning you can access the right support wherever you first ask for help.

What information we collect

Depending on your situation, we may collect:

  • personal details (e.g. name, address, age)
  • contact details (e.g. phone number, email address)
  • household information (e.g. who you live with)
  • financial and income details
  • employment and benefit information
  • health or medical information (where relevant)
  • dietary requirements (if relevant to support provided)
  • immigration or residency status
  • details of other support you have received

Some of this information, such as health information, may be sensitive, and we will treat it with extra care.

Who we collect information about

We process information about:

  • individuals and households applying for or receiving support
  • parents, carers, or representatives acting on someone’s behalf

Who we share your information with

Where necessary, your information may be shared to provide support and meet our responsibilities. This may include:

  • Department for Work and Pensions (DWP)
  • Solihull Council teams delivering or monitoring the fund
  • Solihull Community Housing
  • organisations commissioned to deliver CRF services
  • trusted partners such as voluntary, community organisations, and other support services

Sharing information helps us:

  • make sure you receive the right support as quickly as possible
  • avoid you having to repeat your information multiple times
  • connect you to long-term services that build financial resilience

Information is only shared when it is necessary and appropriate, and we do not use it for unrelated purposes.

How long we will keep your information

We will only keep your information for as long as needed to deliver the fund and meet legal and reporting requirements.

The CRF programme runs from 1 April 2026 to 31 March 2029.

Your information will be securely deleted when no longer required in line with council retention policies. In some cases, we may need to keep information longer if required by law.

Where your information is stored

Your information is stored securely within the UK. We do not transfer your personal data outside of the UK or European Union.

How we protect your information

We take your privacy seriously. Your information is:

  • stored securely
  • treated securely by external providers
  • only accessed by authorised staff and commissioned partners
  • handled in line with UK data protection laws

Your rights

You have rights under data protection law. This includes the right to:

  • access your information
  • correct inaccurate information
  • request deletion (where appropriate)
  • object to how your information is used
