Day opportunities

Our day opportunities help adults with additional needs to take part in groups and activities.

Overview

Day opportunities, also known as day services or day centres, can help you do the things you enjoy whilst meeting your individual support needs.

They provide an opportunity to:

  • meet new people and make friends
  • learn new skills
  • take part in various interests and activities

Day opportunities are available if you:

  • are over 18
  • have a physical or learning disability
  • have care and support needs

How to access day opportunities

If you would like to access day opportunities, you will first need a needs assessment

Find out how to get to support and request a needs assessment on our get help from adult social care page.

We provide a range of day opportunities services, including day opportunities for older people and for adults with learning disabilities and/or physical disabilities. Use the links at the top of this page to find out more information.

How much do day opportunities cost?

The amount you pay for day opportunities will depend on the outcome of your financial assessment

I arrange my own care, can I still access day opportunities?

You can still access Solihull Council’s day opportunities even if we don’t organise your care and support.

Day opportunities strategy

Our day opportunities strategy sets out how we will support the development of day opportunities in Solihull. We have also outlined how we will measure success, ensuring that our services continue to evolve in response to people’s needs.
