Cultural strategy

Are you interested in helping to shape culture in Solihull? Read about how to join our Cultural Compact.

The Cultural Strategy for Solihull 2025 to 2035 is the borough's first cultural strategy, serving as both a vision for a new approach and a roadmap to make a difference.

It aims to use the power of culture to improve the lives of all residents across the borough and strengthen communities, economic development, health, and wellbeing.

Our four pillars

We want culture and creativity to be a common theme in everything that happens in Solihull.

This is underpinned by four pillars:

  • a bold and connected leadership for culture
  • for the benefit of all people and places of Solihull
  • grow infrastructure to allow culture to flourish
  • valuing and investing in creative people

Working collaboratively

The strategy has been developed through a series of consultations, research, surveys and workshops, in collaboration with:

  • residents
  • the cultural sector
  • artists
  • freelancers
  • businesses
  • educational institutions
  • voluntary and community sectors
  • and others

Solihull Cultural Compact

We are looking for individuals within the cultural sector, or any other interested parties, to form part of a new cross-sector partnership group called Solihull Cultural Compact to help shape culture in Solihull.

Solihull Cultural Compact will help to ensure our Cultural Strategy delivers against its ambitions. You can find out more about the role in our application pack.
