Antenatal parenting group - Journey to parenthood

Drawing of an antenatal group

For parents to be.

Delivered by your midwifery team, this 4-week group is open to mums-to-be and their partner or birth partner.

The group will cover a wide range of topics, provide practical information, and give you the opportunity to discuss any concerns you and your partner/birth partner may be having, as well as meeting other mums and dads-to-be. Topics include:

  • getting to know your baby in the womb
  • relaxation
  • getting ready for labour and birth
  • feeding your baby
  • adapting to parenthood

Open to all expectant parents who live in Solihull and have a Solihull GP, you should ideally think about booking your place from around 20 weeks.

To find out what groups are scheduled for your midwifery team, please contact the parenting team via bsmhft.parenting@nhs.net providing your name, address & due date.

Groups would usually take place during the day although for those parents-to-be who might struggle to attend, the group is also available as an online course via www.inourplace.co.uk and accessible free of charge using code: APPLEJACKS
