What do I do if I am concerned about my child’s safety in school?

You should raise your concern with the school.

If you are not satisfied with the school’s response, then follow the school’s complaints policy. You can find this on the school’s website.

What do I do if I am not satisfied with how the school has handled my complaint?

Keep following the school’s complaints policy as it will include the process to escalate the complaint.

This will be to Ofsted or the Department for Education (DFE).

What do I do if I want to raise a concern about a member of staff at my child’s school?

You should speak to the headteacher or principal.

If it concerns the headteacher or principal, then speak to the chair of the governing body. 

You could also consider contacting the Solihull Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO).

What do I do if I believe a child is in immediate danger?

Call 999.
