Protests, demonstrations and vigils
What you should do if you’re planning to hold a protest, demonstration or vigil.
The role of the council
Solihull Council does not:
- provide approval
- control what protests, demonstrations or vigils happen
However, we will:
- work with organisers, where possible
- consider what else is happening in the wider area
- help you access the information you need to plan
If you are planning a protest, demonstration or vigil, please tell us by emailing events@solihull.gov.uk.
Your responsibility
Activities should be planned to minimise disruption to residents, businesses and visitors.
Playing loud videos or music or handing out leaflets, could find you responsible for noise nuisance or causing littering.
Public marches
By law, you must tell the police if you're planning to hold a public march.
