Policy on street entertainment and busking

While we do not licence buskers and street entertainment, we have a policy that outlines what performers should do to minimise noise and disruption to local business, visitors and residents.

Street entertainers and buskers should read our code of conduct before performing.

What street entertainment is taking place in my area?

We do not keep a public register of buskers and street entertainers.

Reporting problems

For some people, particularly those who work or live in the town centres, busking can become a problem if it:

  • continues for too long
  • is intrusive
  • causes an unreasonably disturbance

We don't license busking, so anybody can set up and perform at any time.

While we request buskers follow our code of conduct, we cannot force them to follow the guidance.
