All Solihull libraries close on bank holidays.

Knowle Library temporary closure

From Monday 30 June, Knowle Library will be closed to allow for essential roof repairs. The library is expected to reopen in early 2026, further updates will be provided nearer this time.

During the closure we are pleased to offer a reduced library service from Knowle Royal British Legion.

When visiting us customers will be able to browse a reduced selection of library books, order books from other libraries for collection, return books, learn more about our digital catalogues and speak to staff about any other library related enquiries.

During the closure, we will be offering a reduced library service at The Knowle British Legion:

• Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 10:00am to 12:00pm
• Saturday from 10:00am to 12:30pm

Temporary library closures 

Castle Bromwich Library will be closed all day on Friday 9 January 2026 and will reopen at 10:00am on Saturday 10 January 2026.

Chelmsley Wood Library will be closed all day on Friday 9 January 2026 and will reopen at 10:00am on Saturday 10 January 2026.

Hampton-in-Arden Library will be closed between 2:00pm and 5:00pm on Friday 9 January 2026 and will reopen at 2:00pm on Tuesday 13 January 2026.

• logging into your Library account with your library card and PIN
• calling us on 0121 704 6965
• visiting one of our other Libraries

We do not charge fines but do ask you to return your items for other residents to use.
