Festive fun comes to Solihull town centre

There are lots of things going on in Solihull town centre to get people into the festive spirit this December. Whether it’s Christmas shopping, an exciting pantomime, or a visit from the Grinch, there are plenty of fun activities to choose from!

Coming to The Core Theatre with spectacular sets, breath taking special effects, and gorgeous costumes, Aladdin the pantomime is an adventure for the whole family. Grab your tickets quick as they are in hot demand! Shows run until Sunday 4 January.

The Core will also host Santa’s Christmas Party from Friday 19 to Wednesday 24 December, an interactive family show for children aged two to eight. Every child that has been good this year will get the chance to receive a gift from Father Christmas, along with enjoying plenty of fun, festive songs, and party games. 

While at The Core, don’t miss Tina’s Tinsel Tunnel on Saturday 13 December, a Christmas cabaret with a time-travel twist, packed with laughs, games, and retro fun.

The Core will also come alive with the Solihull Arts Markets a vibrant mix of stalls from talented local artists and makers. Visitors can browse and buy a wide variety of high-quality handmade items. The market will run at The Core from 11am until 5pm on Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 December and Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 December. 

Over at Touchwood shopping centre, Santa’s Grotto is open every day until Wednesday 24 December where children can take their wish lists and maybe even come away with an early present to put under the tree! Book now to reserve a space. 

Beware, the Grinch will also be taking over Touchwood on Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 December  and The Christmas Crackers, roaming entertainers, will bring jokes and festive fun on Sunday 21 December. No need to book, just come along and enjoy the fun!

The Christmas Fun Day in Solihull town centre will take place on Saturday 13 December from 11am until 3pm. Families can see The Living Snow Globe and meet the Antarctic Ambassador: Blizzard the Inflatable Penguin, the ultimate Christmas attraction for young children! 

The Jingle Bell Jog 2025 starts at 10am on Sunday 14 December.Spread festive cheer this December by completing the 2.5km run through the town centre to raise money for Change Into Action homeless charity. Entry is £12 for adults and £8 for children under 14, with all proceeds helping to raise vital funds for Change Into Action and includes a Santa suit to wear on the day. 

Finally, Solihull High Street and Mill Lane will feature Festive Feast Markets from Tuesday 16 December until Monday 22 December Shoppers will be treated to flavours from around the world with a wide range of hot foods to sample and cold items to take home to enjoy over Christmas.
