Kingshurst Village Centre Redevelopment – Update

Cllr Ian Courts, Deputy Leader of Solihull Council and Lead Member for Managed Growth, said:

"We’re making steady headway with the next phase of the project. In September, our contractor Willmott Dixon shared the final costs for current Phase 2 design, which includes the new Community Retail and Health building, six homes, a new vicarage, and all of the surrounding infrastructure.

"We’re working to sign up the tenants for the new community and health spaces, while at the same time finalising our funding plans. A full report outlining the costs, funding, and next steps is being put together for Cabinet to review in December.

"This is a big and complicated project, with lots of moving parts, and important stakeholders to balance. Behind the scenes, we’re continuing to work through the technical, legal, and financial details to make sure we get this right, and the final scheme delivers good value for the public.

"Thanks to everyone in the community for your patience and support. We know it’s taken time, and we’re doing our best to keep you in the loop as things progress. Our aim hasn’t changed. We are working to deliver a transformative scheme focused on high-quality, modern, family housing and a range of community, health and local services, and we’ll review progress at our Cabinet meeting in December.

"In the meantime, members from the project team will be holding an informal drop-in session at Seeds of Hope (St Barnabas Hall) on Thursday 13 November (time tbc). It will be an opportunity to ask any questions and discuss next steps, so please do come along if you can."
