The Mayor of Solihull, Councillor Annette Mackenzie, visited Hatchford Brook Family Hub in Elmdon, on Tuesday 15 July.
Hatchford Brook is one of the four Solihull Family Hubs, alongside Elmwood, Evergreen and Riverside.
Open since autumn 2024, each Hub provides much-needed help and support to children, young people and families across Solihull. They offer a wide range of sessions including health appointments, youth clubs, parent and child sessions, as well as support for people with special educational needs.
The Mayor was given a tour of the Hub, where she was shown the new bespoke sensory room, as well as some of the sessions on offer, including a stay and play group for young children and families.
The Mayor of Solihull, Councillor Annette Mackenzie, said:
“I was delighted to finally visit Hatchford Brook Family Hub, having previously visited all the other Hubs within Solihull before I became Mayor.
“It was great to see the wonderful sessions that are available for children and families who need them most.
“As a childminder for almost thirty years and having served on the Children’s Services, Education and Skills Scrutiny Board, I have always been passionate about ensuring that our children and young people have the best care and support available.
“The brilliant service that the Family Hubs offer, not only provides children with fun-filled experiences, but crucially gives young parents and families the confidence to trust in our support system, when it can be hard to reach out for help. I am proud to have seen first-hand the work that is being done at these support centres in Solihull.”
