Solihull Council invites residents to have their say on the future of Balsall and Berkswell

Have your say on the future governance arrangements in Balsall and Berkswell

Solihull Council is consulting on the future governance arrangements in Balsall and Berkswell.

Earlier this year, Balsall and Berkswell Parish Councils submitted a joint request to the Council for a Community Governance Review, with a view of merging both parish councils into one.

A Community Governance Review (CGR) is a legal process that councils use to examine, and potentially change, the governance arrangements of town and parish councils in their areas. This is the way communities are represented at a local level. A CGR can consider several options, including creating, merging, altering or abolishing parishes.

Solihull Council is asking residents to share their view by taking part in a public consultation which will run until 23:59 on Wednesday 1 October 2025.
