With summer well and truly here, there’s lots of things to do in Solihull town centre to keep people entertained while the sun shines.
From theatre shows, creative workshops, library activities and more, there’s lots to choose from!
Sunday tickets are still available for Solihull Summerfest at Tudor Grange Park this weekend. It’s the ultimate feel good festival with the Sunday lineup including Bananarama, Leo Sayer and DJ Robin Holland.
Pull up a deck chair, build some sandcastles and enjoy family fun days at the beach at Touchwood’s ‘Costa del Solihull - dinosaur beach’ in Theatre Square. It’s free to enter and open every day throughout the six-week school holidays.
The Core Theatre is host to the electrifying stage adaptation of Mel Brooks’ monstrously funny film, ‘Young Frankenstein’, from Tuesday 22 to Saturday 26 July.
Wrestling fans can check out ‘Megaslam Wrestling’ in a fun family entertainment extravaganza like no other on Saturday 2 August at The Core Theatre.
There’s plenty of children’s creative classes and workshops to choose from at The Core. Including Sing - Wicked for young singers on 24 July, Young Film Makers, a one or two day course for budding film makers, on various dates in July and August, and Play in a Day, a one day course for the acting stars of tomorrow, on 21 and 22 August. Younger children will love Bhangra Tots Storytime on Tuesday 29 July and Thursday 7 August.
Families can grab their popcorn and enjoy some quality family time with film showings on Thursdays at The Core including The Wild Robot on 31 July, A Minecraft Movie on 7 August, The Little Mermaid on 14 August, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory on 21 August and Dog Man on 28 August.
Solihull libraries have got lots of free children’s activities and the popular Summer Reading Challenge is back again this year to encourage kids to have a love of reading.
The Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) Programme will also be providing free, fun activities and meals throughout the school summer holidays for eligible children and families.
