Indespoke, a curated retail development platform for independent product brands, founders and creatives, has opened its doors in Solihull town centre this week, with Mill Lane becoming the home of its second concept space.
Designed to support emerging brands, Indespoke combines five elements in one destination: a curated retail presence, pop-up experiences and activations, structured business support, a community of makers, and an online marketplace listing. The concept helps brands to build sustainable businesses while giving customers access to unique, independently created products.
Following the success of its first location at Birmingham’s Great Western Arcade, the Solihull space will provide a physical home for a growing collective of businesses, many of which currently trade online or through occasional pop-up events.
In addition to retail space, participating businesses have access to Indespoke’s structured growth programme, which includes an Ambassador Programme for selected brands, a live vendor leaderboard designed to encourage engagement and collaboration, and a series of awards and prizes recognising businesses that actively contribute to and grow through the platform.
Councillor Heather Delaney, Deputy Leader of Solihull Council and Portfolio holder for Economy, Business and Skills, said:
“We are delighted to welcome Indespoke to Solihull town centre and to see this exciting opportunity for local entrepreneurs.
“Independent businesses play an important role in shaping the character of our town. The arrival of Indespoke gives visitors the chance to discover unique products while supporting independent businesses and local creativity. It also provides a valuable platform for emerging brands to reach new customers and flourish. We hope it will be a real success.”
CJ Lloyd Webley, Founder of Indespoke, said:
“Indespoke was created to give independent brands more than just a place to sell. Our vision is to build an ecosystem where founders can access retail, business development, strategic partnerships and long term opportunities that help them grow sustainable businesses.
Opening in Solihull is another important milestone in that journey. We’re proud to be creating a platform that champions creativity, supports entrepreneurship and brings together a community of exceptional independent brands. We look forward to becoming part of the local business community and helping even more founders take the next step in their growth.”
Indespoke is now open at 30 Mill Lane, where customers can browse a carefully curated selection of products from independent brands and discover the stories behind the makers and entrepreneurs driving the businesses forward.
